Wireless Camera Surveillance Systems

Wireless Camera Surveillance

Wireless camera surveillance equipment is becoming more popular than ever due to the advances in both wireless technology and more sophisticated camera equipment. Choosing the right camera system is not easy, so hopefully this website will help to make your choice easier.

How Effective Are Wireless Cameras?

The short answer is very! Security cameras are not only a visual deterrent to a potential thief or vandal, but they also allow you to keep an on your kids from the comfort of your armchair, as well as workmen, and other people who may visit your home.

There are obviously several different ways for securing your home, but installing a wireless security camera system is one of the most effective. The main advantage of the wireless camera systems is that they can run off batteries and can be placed anywhere without the restriction of cabling.

How Many Cameras?

Do you just want to monitor your front door and driveway, or your entire home? Consider a system that is expandable if you think you need more than one camera. You can buy single camera systems, and then they normally come in 2, 4, 8, and 12+ camera systems. So if you need 2 cameras immediately it may be worth thinking about a system that you can add more cameras to later, as this will work out cheaper in the long run.

Indoor or Outdoor Cameras

If you need outdoor cameras then the cost will be slightly higher, as these will need to be weather proof. Don’t try installing indoor cameras outdoors as they won’t last very long!

Low Light / Night Vision

Consider the times of day your camera will need to operate. If you want to use the security cameras at night then look for ones that support very low light or night vision. The best models will come with infrared night vision so you can clearly make out people’s faces in the dark.

Motion Sensors and Recording

If you want to capture movement in front a camera and record those images, then you will need cameras with motion sensors. These motion sensors detect any movement, then send a signal to the camera, and the system will auto record the images to a digital video recorder (DVR). You can then watch those recorded images at any time.

Personally, I would recommend that if you need more than one camera then go for an all-in-one system that includes 2-4 cameras that includes night vision, motion sensors, and a digital video recorder (DVR). That way you will never need to upgrade or change your cameras later on, plus buying all-in-one wireless camera surveillance systems works out the best value.
